The SNC-B5399 is an IP-enabled vandal and weather resistant network camera equipped with 1/3" Super HAD progressive scan CCD. H.264 compression significantly lowers the required network bandwidth and storage costs. Simultaneous dual streaming supports H.264/MPEG-4 and MJPEG compression. The SNC-B5399 has a true day/night feature implemented with an IR Cut Filter to enable 24 hour surveillance in low light conditions. WDR utilizes the shutter speed to eliminate the negative effect of light while XDR allows the surveillance of darker and strong backlit areas. A DNR function places the camera ahead the competition by reaching over 52dB S/N ratio. With the built-in heater and fan, SNCB5399 is capable of working in extreme weather conditions. Power over Ethernet (PoE) reduces the installation time and costs. The camera is compatible with the autoIP(tm) open VMS platform.

I've tried all three power supplies (24V ac, 12V dc and PoE) on two cameras. Each time the cameras begin to hum (indicating they are getting power) and I can access them and set them up via the IP Installer software. However, when trying to access the cameras via internet explorer or specific security camera software, no image comes through. While Samsung's tech support responded promptly, all they do is point you to a page in the manual. I've followed the manual with no changes in results. As these are the first security cameras I've attempted to set up, and the problem is with two cameras, it's probably something I'm doing. But it's frustrating as items such as this should be fairly "plug and play" these days. (Posted on 1/21/13)
