KT&C KPC-DE100NUV17B 750TVL Indoor D/N Dome, 2.8-12mm Lens, Black

Has a fixed IR cut filter so colors are good, not washed out.
Wont pick up IR at all but there are many apps this camera is useful for.

I am using them above cash registers but would also be good for wide angle shots of the store. I needed the black housing for my application, and this is one of the few that are not white in this class of cameras.

Has a full OSD menu using a mini joystick control on the camera board.
Its pretty much good to go out the box using defaults.

This is similar to the CNB DFL-20s as far as low light sensitivity and where it switches to BW. I would not class this as a Day Night or Low light camera though - if that is what you are looking for check out the CNB VBM-24VF in the same price range, although that comes in a white housing. The VBM-24VF (and VCM-224VF) have a mechanical IR cut filter so they pick up IR when the filter is removed under low light, and they also see in very low light without IR.

Overall I like this camera. Dome bubble twists off and on easy enough, no insert so no trying to line anything up with the lens. Its got a fairly long video/power cable which is nice, and is rare these days. The cable is however thin enough to roll up and tie strap without being a big bundle - as I had to do in my case due to lack of a real ceiling and client did not want to see gang boxes.

Only con I can think of, if it can even be considered one - KT&C never seem to send power plug leads with their cameras, all KT&C domes and bullets that I have used so far have the power plug and not raw wire or CNB type connectors. So either you will need to cut the power plug off and join your wires with a b-connector or buy a power plug lead. If anything this would be for warranty purposes, as otherwise it would work the same regardless.

Another thing, but not really a con, is that it is a BIG dome, especially compared to other similar products. But it has alot of internal parts and overall it looks nice so I wont fault it for that.

A big pro is that it has the fixed IR Cut filter (as does the CNB DFL-20s), which is not explained in the specs. This gives it true colors instead of washed out and incorrect colors often found with cameras without an IR Cut filter (eg. Color IR cameras).

All that said, the price is kind of high compared to other indoor similar 2.8-12mm domes, especially for a direct manufacturer product (not relabeled). So I took a point off for that.

I would buy it again.
