The HX-40RAM by Optex is a high mount (10') outdoor wireless ready passive infra-red (PIR) detector with a 40' x 50' coverage area, and active IR digital anti-masking for use under severe environmental conditions where reliability and performance is a must. This wireless-ready, battery powered version works with most manufacturer's wireless systems and allows installers to save valuable installation time and labor costs because no trenching, installing conduit or pulling wire is required. The unique pyro-element developed by Optex provides a multiple pattern detection with 94 high density detection zones and accurate discrimination function for spot temperature changes of moving objects. These features drastically reduce false and missed alarms caused by severe outdoor environmental changes and provide a wide range of applications. Accurate detection performance is necessary in such environments, and the HX-40RAM meets these requirements.

Catch Performance:

The HX Series features superb Catch Performance. The most important element in a reliable outdoor detector is accuracy to distinguish a human from a pet. The exclusive pyro element on board enables the HX to project an ideal detection pattern, thus allowing for more accurate detection of humans and less false alarms.

Adjustability:

Outdoor environments are full of false alarm factors like vegetation and reflective surfaces. Pre-survey before installing enables you to find the ways to minimize possible false alarms. The HX detection pattern can easily be adjusted to avoid these possible false alarms by using the included masking strips.

Slope Friendliness:

Not all outdoor ground is flat like most indoor environments. Steep slopes can cause negative effects on the catch performance feature. The adjustable included bracket enables the HX to maintain the optimal catch performance.

Active IR Digital Anti-Masking:

When an object is placed close to the lens surface, for a period of more than 180 seconds, the IR Anti-Masking circuit will activate and generate a trouble signal.

Battery Operated:

HX-40RAM is battery operated model therefore requires no complicated wiring. Includes battery box for numerous battery types (not included) such as CR123A, CR2 and 1/2AA.
